The hotel stands in place of what was once an old wine cellar, on a plot of land that hosted vine rows, prickly pear stumps and citrus plants spread among the lava rocks that characterised the area known as “Arso” (burnt ground).
At the beginning, the structure destined to the guesthouse consisted of four rooms and a small breakfast room. This was the original core. In the late 50s, the structure had already expanded to 20 rooms, a restaurant, kitchen and porter’s lodge.
A further extension took place in the early 60s with the structure of a new wing; a subsequent general renovation expanded the guesthouse capacity to 60 rooms, all with private bathrooms, as well as halls, terraces and a sun terrace.
The first thermal swimming-pool was built in the early 70s.
Other renovations and developments were carried out in the following years, transforming the guesthouse into the current Hotel Pineta.
The most recent structural developments include a second thermal swimming pool and a modern wellness centre.
From the original “Pineta Guesthouse” to the current Hotel Pineta, the management has always been in the hands of the Giusepponi family, first with the founders, Berto and Antonietta and later by their children Luciano, Luigi and Carlo.
Today, the hotel is in the hands of the third generation who run the business with the same enthusiasm shown by their grandparents.
